Henrie, who played Gomez's on-screen brother, explained that he had to work on an out-of-state project and could not make it back in time for the ceremony.
Despite missing the special day, Henrie was still able to share some heartfelt wedding advice he had received. He recalled being told to "hold your wife's hand and take like a solid minute and just look around the room" to soak in the moment. Henrie said he passed this advice on to Gomez and Blanco, hoping they were able to do the same.
While Henrie was absent, several other Wizards of Waverly Place stars were in attendance, including Gomez's on-screen parents, Maria Canals-Barrera and David DeLuise, as well as Jennifer Stone, who played her best friend Harper Finkle. Gomez's TV dad, DeLuise, even shared a touching message and throwback photo on Instagram, expressing his joy at the newlyweds' special day.
