In October 2025, Selena Gomez, now 33 years old, continued to share her personal aspirations of becoming a mother. The actress posted an Instagram Story celebrating her role on the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel series, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, where her character Alex Russo was revealed to be a mother.

Gomez expressed her hope to one day experience motherhood herself, writing, "Alex Russo is a mommy 🥹. Hopefully one day that'll be me." She included a clip from the show's two-part finale, where Alex's daughter Billie Russo, played by Janice LeAnn Brown, was introduced.

After the episode aired, Gomez and Brown spoke about their strong on and off-screen connection. "It was very emotional, especially for me and her after the table read," the 15-year-old Brown said. "We were just puddles," Gomez added, reflecting on their bond.

Prior to the show's release, Gomez had opened up about her deep connection to the character of Alex Russo, calling the reboot a "new, refreshing take" on the series. She expressed that the character "ultimately shaped who I am, because I feel like I am Alex."

Gomez's desire to become a mother has been a recurring theme in her life.
