In the lead-up to the October 23rd premiere of season 2 of the hit Netflix series "Nobody Wants This", The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively revealed the star-studded soundtrack for the new episodes. The 19-track soundtrack, featuring a diverse range of artists from pop to country, includes contributions from Selena Gomez, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton, Teddy Swims, Finneas, Alessia Cara, and many others.
The soundtrack was assembled by Simon Tikhman, co-founder and CEO of music company The Core Entertainment, in collaboration with Interscope Records. Tikhman noted that the music was chosen to reflect the "honesty, sharpness, and heart" of the show's creator, Erin Foster, whose own life experiences loosely inspired the series.
Several tracks from the soundtrack, including Giveon's "Dancing in the Smoke," Dermot Kennedy's "Melodies," and Cassandra Coleman's "Bite My Tongue," had already been released prior to the official announcement. Fans can also look forward to new releases from Finneas and Towa Bird this Friday.
The success and acclaim of the first season of "Nobody Wants This" clearly paved the way for this impressive musical lineup, as Interscope Records president of A&R Sam Riback remarked, "So many artists were drawn to the uniquely captivating love story and the role of music in this series."
