Secuoya Studios Taps HBO Max Exec for Global Growth

Secuoya Studios has appointed José María Caro as its new creative lead, marking a significant step in its five-year plan to establish itself as a premier international independent studio. Caro will oversee the creative development of new projects and define the editorial vision for Secuoya Studios' productions, including sales strategy and global market penetration.

His appointment follows a successful tenure at HBO Max, where he was head of original fiction production for Spain. Caro's impressive career also includes executive roles at Amazon MGM Studios, Buendía Estudios, and the Middle East Broadcasting Center, demonstrating a broad expertise in content creation and executive management.

Secuoya Studios, part of Secuoya Content Group, has been actively expanding its footprint in film, series, and unscripted production. The studio operates from Madrid with a strong presence in Latin America, including Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Chile, as well as the United States.

Recent international projects from Secuoya Studios include the reboot of "Zorro" for Prime Video and "Montecristo." The studio's strategic approach involves developing local creative and production cells to generate and distribute content across various territories, aiming for projects with strong local roots and global appeal.
