Secret Cinema Eyes London for Permanent Immersive Venue
6 Aug
Summary
- Secret Cinema seeks permanent venue on Greenwich Peninsula.
- New venue seeks license for late-night operation until midnight.
- Local residents fear increased noise and disturbance from venue.

Entertainment company Secret Cinema has applied for a premises license to open its first permanent venue on the Greenwich Peninsula in south-east London. The proposed license would allow the site to operate until 11:30 PM on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
Greenwich Council is scheduled to review the application on August 11. The plans have faced objections from two local residents concerned about potential noise and disturbance impacting their neighborhood. Despite these concerns, the authority previously granted Secret Cinema planning permission last month for a 1,500-seat venue.
This new development is planned for a temporary period of ten years. Following this, the land is designated for the construction of residential tower blocks as part of the Greenwich Peninsula Masterplan. Secret Cinema states the venue will be state-of-the-art and flexibly designed to host a succession of immersive productions based on famous film titles.
