In early 2026, acclaimed actor Sean Hayes will return to the New York stage in an Off-Broadway production of the thrilling one-man play "The Unknown." Written by David Cale, the play follows a writer who retreats to a remote cabin in an attempt to cure his writer's block, only to discover that he may not be alone and may be living within the thriller he's writing.
Directed by Leigh Silverman, "The Unknown" is slated for a 10-week run at Studio Seaview Off-Broadway, with the opening night scheduled for February 12, 2026. This marks Hayes' return to the stage after his Tony Award-winning performance in "Good Night, Oscar," which he also starred in during its recent West End engagement.
"David Cale is a masterful storyteller and I am thrilled to be embarking on our third collaboration with 'The Unknown,'" said Silverman. "We are joined by the charismatic, dynamic Sean Hayes, an imaginative design team and visionary producers, and I can't wait to share this enthralling show with audiences."
