The creative process behind the beloved sitcom "Scrubs" often involved leaning on the improvisational skills of its cast. Creator Bill Lawrence revealed that when writers faced a creative block for the Janitor character, played by Neil Flynn, they would simply write 'Neil say something funny' in the script. This allowed Flynn to contribute memorable and hilarious lines on the spot.
One standout example of Flynn's improv prowess occurred in the eighth season episode titled "My Lawyer's in Love." During a scene where the Janitor is giving Ted, a lawyer, romantic advice, he shares an outlandish story. The tale involves a topless fistfight with a duck on the side of the road, an improv moment that has become a celebrated scene among fans of the show.
