20 Aug
Summary
- Distributors of Batwara 1947 demand one show in single screens.
- Awarapan 2 distributor requests all shows until next Thursday.
- Toxic's upcoming release complicates screen allocation for exhibitors.
The battle for screen space between 'Batwara 1947' and 'Awarapan 2' has escalated into its second week. Distributors for 'Batwara 1947' are urging single-screen theaters to dedicate at least one show per day to their film, despite its underperformance.
This request poses a challenge for exhibitors who are keen to maximize showings of the commercially successful 'Awarapan 2'. The distributor of 'Awarapan 2' has stipulated that their film should retain all shows until next Thursday, August 27. This demand complicates matters further due to the impending release of 'Toxic' on Wednesday, August 26.
Exhibitors are actively negotiating with both film distributors to find an amicable solution that accommodates the demands of all parties. A resolution is anticipated shortly, paving the way for the programming of the second week for 'Batwara 1947' and 'Awarapan 2'.
