Netflix has officially cast the core members of Mystery Inc. for its upcoming live-action "Scooby-Doo" series. The series, ordered for eight episodes, is described as a modern reimagining of the iconic cartoon. The logline reveals that Shaggy and Daphne, during their final summer at camp, stumble upon a mystery involving a lost Great Dane puppy who may have witnessed a supernatural murder. They team up with Velma and Fred to solve the case.
This project marks a return to Netflix for Maxwell Jenkins, who previously starred in "Lost in Space." Tanner Hagen has appeared in "The Pitt" and "Lawmen: Bass Reeves," while Abby Ryder Fortson is known for her roles in the "Ant-Man" films and "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret."
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are writing and executive producing, alongside André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman are also executive producing. This series follows previous live-action adaptations, including the 2002 film and its sequel, as well as TV films released in 2009 and 2010.
