The Vietnamese family dramedy "Scent of Pho" is scheduled for an international theatrical release commencing March 13, with a subsequent expansion on March 20 and March 26. Directed by entrepreneur-filmmaker Minh Beta, this marks his directorial debut.
The narrative centers on a pho master determined to pass his renowned noodle soup legacy to his grandson, igniting a multi-generational family crisis. Filmed in Nam Dinh province, considered the birthplace of pho culture, and Hanoi's Old Quarter, the movie delves into family dynamics and cultural shifts.
Starring acclaimed comedian Xuan Hinh as Mr. Mui, this marks his first feature film role. The cast also includes popular actors Thu Trang and Thanh Thanh Hien, alongside child actor Bao Nam and others.
Director Minh Beta also composed the original soundtrack, "Scent of Memories," reflecting Vietnamese heritage. Producer Christian D. Gulino contributed "Rap Phở," blending traditional vocals with modern rap. Beta Group's founder, Minh Beta, brings his expertise to this cinematic venture.
