The South Carolina Peach Festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a two-week extravaganza in Gaffney. The festivities, which commenced on June 25, honor Cherokee County's rich peach-growing heritage and are set to conclude on July 19.
Events began with a special exhibit at the Gaffney Visitors Center, commemorating both the nation's 250th anniversary and the festival's golden jubilee through August 31. July events kicked off with a Peach Eating and Dessert Contest on July 10, followed by outdoor activities on July 11, including a fishing tournament, a mud bog, and the traditional Peach Festival Pageant.
Live music takes center stage on July 17 with Peach Jam in the Park, featuring performances by WESKO, Laci Kaye Booth, and headliner Kameron Marlowe. The festival's main day, July 18, will feature the annual Peach Parade through downtown Gaffney, a car and golf cart show, carnival rides, food vendors, and live entertainment. The celebration continues into the evening with beach-themed concerts at Jolly Park.
The festival concludes on July 19 with a community worship service. Visitors looking to extend their stay can find camping discounts at the Shelby/Broad River KOA Campground.
