A new feature film, "Satoshi," is slated for production, aiming to unravel the mystery surrounding Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator. Directed by Jason Zada, the project has secured backing from former NBA champion and investor Tristan Thompson. Principal photography is scheduled to commence in spring 2027, with filming locations set for Saudi Arabia and Los Angeles.
"Satoshi" is one of the initial productions under a multi-picture agreement between Enderby Entertainment and Saudi Arabia's Yellow Camel Studios. The film will utilize JAX Film Studios in Riyadh for its production needs. This biographical thriller will examine the genesis of Bitcoin in 2008, following the global financial crisis, and its role in challenging traditional financial systems.
The narrative follows a troubled FBI agent collaborating with a defense attorney to identify Satoshi Nakamoto, leading them into a high-stakes crypto thriller. While AI will be employed as a tool, the production emphasizes a traditional filmmaking approach with on-location shoots. Producers aim to present an authentic portrayal of Bitcoin's origins and cultural significance, moving beyond speculative theories about its creator's identity.
