Teen Pop Sensation Sasane's Viral Hit 'mosi mosi?'

Eighteen-year-old Sasane has rapidly emerged as a notable artist, gaining significant attention for her debut single "mosi mosi?". This track has achieved massive popularity, accumulating over 3 billion plays on TikTok and securing the top spot on Billboard Japan's JAPAN Heatseekers Songs chart as of June 10, 2026. Her musical approach is deeply influenced by her multifaceted background, including childhood dance training and high school design studies, contributing to a distinctive visual and sonic identity.

Sasane's journey began with posting acoustic guitar cover videos on TikTok in March 2025. Her unique visual sensibility and engaging personality quickly attracted a large following both domestically and internationally. The success of "mosi mosi?", released in April 2026, was followed by her second single, "otukare," in July 2026, which has also begun to generate significant social media buzz. Sasane's artistic process involves a conceptual approach, drawing heavily from her design background to conceptualize ideas and refine her presentation.

During the creation of "mosi mosi?", Sasane collaborated with producer Tamico Mukoda, focusing on a sound that blended nostalgic yet contemporary elements, incorporating Shibuya-kei and denpa song characteristics. This collaboration resulted in a song that Sasane felt authentically represented her. She also experienced her first live performance in July 2026 at a high school in South Korea, an event that solidified her connection with fans despite language barriers. Her latest single, "otukare," released on July 8, 2026, offers a comforting message, inspired by the everyday exhaustion observed in public spaces.
