On October 25, 2025, the entertainment industry was saddened by the sudden passing of veteran actor Satish Shah at the age of 75. The actor, known for his iconic roles in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Om Shanti Om, and other Bollywood classics, died at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.
Initial reports had suggested that the cause of death was kidney failure, but Satish Shah's on-screen son, Rajesh Kumar, who played Rosesh in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, has now revealed the true reason. In an interview, Rajesh shared that Satish Shah had actually passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest while having lunch at home, and the kidney issue had already been under control.
Rajesh Kumar expressed his deep emotional turmoil, saying, "It's very difficult to even express it." He went on to remember Satish Shah as a constant presence in his professional journey, with 90% of it being intertwined with the late actor's work. Rajesh fondly recalled looking forward to Satish's company and seeking opportunities to collaborate with him.
A prayer meet was organized on October 27, 2025, where many from the entertainment industry, including Rakesh Roshan, Rupali Ganguly, David Dhawan, Bhuvan Bam, Johny Lever, and Shatrughan Sinha, paid their respects to the beloved comedian-actor.
