Singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles is set to release her first album in nearly seven years, titled "Good Grief," on August 28. The album's premiere was celebrated at New York's Tribeca Festival. Bareilles has committed to donating 100% of the proceeds from album sales via her website to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Bareilles describes the collection of songs as "transmissions" rather than a deliberate attempt to make sense of the world, expressing a hope that "Good Grief" offers comfort. The lead single, "Home," was influenced by Stephen Colbert and Anderson Cooper's podcast discussion on loss, inspiring Bareilles to share her own experiences.
Fans can also anticipate Sara Bareilles' "Good Grief" tour, commencing September 9 in Boston and concluding October 19 in Seattle. Presales begin June 8, with general public ticket sales launching June 10. A significant portion of each ticket sale, one dollar, will be donated to The Jed Foundation, supporting suicide prevention among young people.
