Santoor Star Shines in Beijing

Santoor maestro Tarun Bhattacharya recently represented India at the esteemed World Dulcimer Festival held in Beijing, China. This significant global gathering brought together musicians, educators, and students from more than 20 countries. They convened to honor and celebrate the diverse legacy of the dulcimer family of instruments.

Leading the Indian contingent, Bhattacharya delivered captivating performances and conducted insightful masterclasses. His sessions provided international attendees with a deep understanding of the Indian Santoor, an instrument historically referred to as the Satatantri Veena. The festival also featured collaborative performances and workshops focused on preserving the instrument's shared heritage.
