Actor Sanjay Dutt appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) on April 27 to address concerns over alleged obscenity in the song "Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke" from the film "KD: The Devil."
Dutt, accompanied by his legal team, expressed regret during the hearing. He maintained that he had no prior knowledge or creative involvement in the song's lyrics, composition, or presentation, asserting his role was solely that of an actor fulfilling contractual obligations.
Demonstrating respect for women's dignity, Dutt voluntarily committed to sponsoring the education of 50 girls from tribal communities in Nagpur, Maharashtra, for the upcoming academic year. He assured the NCW that compliance would be reported within three months and committed to incorporating safeguards in future projects.
The song had previously drawn significant criticism for its vulgar lyrics and choreography, leading to its ban by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Hindi version was subsequently removed from YouTube.
