Sanfic Industria, the industry component of the Santiago International Film Festival (Sanfic), is preparing for an enhanced edition running November 2-6, 2026. Gabriela Sandoval leads this year's programming, which features several new additions.
Notable among these are the participation of Sitges' Woman In Fan Lab, an expanded Santiago-Guadalajara Queer Incubator backed by Netflix, and an online Fantastic WIP selection for genre films in post-production. The 'Books at Berlinale 2027' initiative also launches, tied to Chile's upcoming guest of honor status at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
The Santiago Lab, focusing on fiction and documentary projects, selected 16 fiction and 17 documentary projects from over 300 applications. This program aims to foster collaboration between established and emerging directors, nurturing new voices in the industry.
Sanfic Industria will honor Fabula producer Juan de Dios Larraín and actress Antonia Zegers for their contributions to Ibero-American cinema. Filmmaking duo Marité Ugás and Mariana Rondón will also be recognized on the closing night, November 6, 2026.
