Samoa Joe made a surprise and impactful return at AEW All Out, confronting Jack Perry. This appearance came after Perry defeated Katsuyori Shibata in a notable match at the All Out Tailgate Brawl held recently. Perry had been actively calling out Samoa Joe, expressing his desire to face former champions to advance towards the world championship.
Following his victory over Shibata, Perry reiterated his challenge to the "Samoan Submission Machine." Joe, a decorated former WWE United States Champion and AEW TNT Champion, finally answered Perry's call. The crowd reacted with shock as the two wrestlers met in the ring for the first time on television.
During their confrontation, Perry extended a handshake, which Joe initially rejected by turning away. In a surprising turn, Joe then headbutted Perry, escalating their animosity and setting up a highly anticipated future match between them. This event marks Joe's first appearance in AEW since May 2025.
