In October 2025, Magnolia Pictures announced the acquisition of the North American rights to the film "Carolina Caroline," which had its premiere earlier this year at the Toronto International Film Festival. The romantic crime thriller, directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier, stars Samara Weaving as Caroline Daniels, a woman whose desire to escape her small Texas town brings her into the orbit of a charismatic con man, played by Kyle Gallner.
Together, Weaving and Gallner weave a path of crime and passion across the American Southeast, captivating audiences with their electric on-screen chemistry. Rehmeier, known for the cult hit "Dinner in America," which also featured Gallner, is excited to be working with Magnolia to bring "Carolina Caroline" to theaters next year.
Kyra Sedgwick also stars in the film, which was written by Tom Dean and produced by a team including Trevor and Tim White, Stephen Braun, Eric B. Fleischman, Chris Abernathy, and Chris Ward. The original music was composed by Chris Bear of the band Grizzly Bear. Magnolia co-CEOs Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley praised the film, calling Weaving and Gallner's performances "fantastic" and the overall experience "a blast from start to finish."
