Samara Weaving to Play Emma Frost in Marvel's X-Men Film

Marvel Studios is reportedly moving forward with its X-Men film, with Samara Weaving tapped to play the coveted role of Emma Frost. Sources indicate that director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige finalized their decision earlier this week after extensive auditions.

Weaving emerged as the top choice following a comprehensive search, beating out other candidates for the role of the telepathic mutant. Emma Frost, a character with a rich comic book history dating back to the 1980s, has been depicted as both a supervillain and a key member of the X-Men.

This casting news fuels anticipation for the X-Men's cinematic return since Disney's 2019 acquisition of 20th Century Fox's Marvel properties. The project has gained momentum with Jake Schreier directing and a script penned by Lee Sung Jim and Joanna Calo.

Samara Weaving has had a significant year in film, recently starring in the sequel 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,' IFC's 'Over Your Dead Body,' and the romantic crime thriller 'Carolina Caroline.' The actress is represented by CAA and 111 Media.
