On November 12, 2025, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan completed a two-day shoot for his cameo appearance in Riteish Deshmukh's upcoming period drama 'Raja Shivaji'. Khan plays the role of Jiva Mahala, a loyal and brave warrior who was one of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's most trusted bodyguards.
Known for his pivotal role in protecting Shivaji during the 1659 Battle of Pratapgarh, Jiva Mahala's character is said to be a significant and powerful presence in the film. According to a source, Salman's "commanding presence made him the perfect choice" for the part, and the actor immediately agreed when Deshmukh approached him.
Following the shoot, Khan flew to Doha to perform at the Da'Bangg Reloaded tour concert. He is expected to return to the 'Raja Shivaji' set in the coming months to film his action sequences, which will be choreographed by Parvez Shaikh. The historical drama also features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, and Abhishek Bachchan, and is slated for release on May 1, 2026.
