Summary
- Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali scolded Salman Khan for an unplanned touch.
- Actors Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's romance delayed film shoots.
- Smita Jayakar revealed the on-set romance of Salman and Aishwarya.
Smita Jayakar, who played Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's mother in 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,' recounted instances of the lead actors' romance impacting the film's production. She recalled Sanjay Leela Bhansali scolding Salman Khan for spontaneously touching Aishwarya's arm during the filming of the song 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan,' a gesture not planned in the choreography.
Jayakar observed that Salman and Aishwarya's real-life affection was evident on set, contributing to their on-screen chemistry. This blossoming relationship, however, led to frequent delays, with the actors sometimes arriving as late as 11 am, causing the crew to wait. Despite the production challenges, Jayakar expressed understanding for the couple in love.
Their on-set romance reportedly began during the production of the 1999 film. Jayakar mentioned in a previous interview that their visible romance and affectionate glances significantly benefited the film's romantic narrative, enhancing the audience's perception of their on-screen pairing.
