More than a decade after its release, Saif Ali Khan has candidly discussed the reasons behind the commercial disappointment of the spy thriller 'Agent Vinod'.

The actor, who also emotionally invested in the project, believes the film may have been overly ambitious for its time. During an interaction, Ali Khan suggested that while the film opened well, it failed to sustain momentum due to execution flaws and potentially straying from its core narrative.

Despite acknowledging mistakes, Ali Khan remains convinced that the film's core concept and title held significant potential. He speculated that 'Agent Vinod' was a cool, potentially ahead-of-its-time spy movie that might have benefited from tighter execution and fewer creative missteps.

Further adding to the discussion, actor Lalit Parimoo had previously stated that excessive interference from lead stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor hindered director Sriram Raghavan's vision. Raghavan himself has previously accepted responsibility for certain creative decisions, noting that the story's vital importance was underestimated.
