Legendary S Janaki Passes, Leaving a Musical Void

Legendary playback singer S Janaki passed away on Saturday at the age of 88, marking the end of an era in Indian music. Her extraordinary career, which spanned more than 20 languages, saw her record an estimated 48,000 songs, leaving an enduring legacy.

Janaki's voice graced films across multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Her work resonated with generations of listeners, cementing her status as a beloved icon.
