Ryan Hurst Trades Thor for Kratos in New Series

Actor Ryan Hurst, a familiar face from Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead, is set to star as Kratos in the anticipated God of War television adaptation. This casting marks a shift for Hurst, who previously portrayed Thor in the 2022 game God of War Ragnarök. The series promises to bring to life the pivotal events of the 2018 God of War game.

The narrative centers on Kratos, a former Spartan warrior living in the realm of Norse deities, who embarks on a deeply personal quest. Following the death of his wife, he and his young son, Atreus, journey to scatter her ashes, facing numerous challenges and figures from Norse mythology along the way.

This new series adapts the soft reboot of the franchise, which began in 2018. Kratos, a character known for his stoic nature and tragic past, navigates fatherhood while confronting his own demons. The adaptation will explore the complex relationship between Kratos and Atreus amidst their perilous adventure.
