Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth will release his latest album, 'Numbskull,' on October 21, marking his first new project since 2018 and his debut on Topshelf Records. The album is described as a genre-bending exploration, incorporating elements of trip-hop, electroclash, hyperpop, and rave music.
The initial single, "One Step," exemplifies Hemsworth's experimental approach, blending Southern rap, UK hardcore, and punk sounds. Hemsworth noted that this track was inspired by old Three 6 Mafia tapes and 90s UK rave music. He collaborated with Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties, who embraced his unconventional direction for the track.
'Numbskull' features a diverse lineup of guest artists, including Tegan and Sara, Nana Lourdes, Allie, and MSpaint. While a headlining tour for the album has not yet been announced, Hemsworth is scheduled to support George Clanton in November.
