Ryan Gosling's Kids Voiced Alien in "Project Hail Mary"

Ryan Gosling shared that his daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 11, and Amada Lee, 9, voiced the alien character Rocky in his latest film, "Project Hail Mary." Gosling explained that his kids would talk to him via earpiece during filming, helping him react to the alien. This experience allowed him to laugh and feel charmed by the interactions, which were genuinely his children. He also recalled experiencing "wig trauma" from his 2015 role in "The Big Short," where Steve Carell's reaction to his costume and wig left him feeling self-conscious.

Gosling noted that his daughters have seen multiple cuts of "Project Hail Mary" and provided numerous notes, serving as his most significant critics. He stated that he made the film for his children, wanting to create a movie that his family would enjoy watching together. The science fiction film, set to open on March 20, 2026, follows a science teacher on a mission to save humanity, where he encounters the alien Rocky.
