Grindstone Acquires Domestic Rights to Russell Crowe's MMA Drama 'Beast in Me'

In a major acquisition, Grindstone Entertainment Group has secured the domestic distribution rights to the mixed martial arts action drama "Beast in Me" starring Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe. The film, which Crowe co-wrote, follows the story of a former MMA legend who is drawn back into the cage for a high-stakes rematch with the champion he once defeated.
Now the underdog, Crowe's character must wrestle with guilt, grief, and his violent past to win one last fight for his family and himself. The movie was directed by Tyler Atkins and produced by Tim O'Hair, alongside co-writers David Frigerio and the Schwarz brothers. Notably, "Beast in Me" was made in collaboration with the Asian martial arts franchise ONE Championship.
Grindstone Entertainment Group, led by President and CEO Barry Brooker and principal Stan Wertlieb, has a long-standing distribution deal with Lionsgate that runs through 2027. The company's previous releases include thrillers, comedies, and biopics featuring stars like Sam Jackson, George Lopez, and Frank Grillo.
