Rush Reunites for 50th Anniversary Tour, Honoring Late Drummer Neil Peart

According to a recent news report, the iconic Canadian rock band Rush is set to reunite for a special 50th anniversary tour in 2026. The announcement comes as a surprise, as founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson had previously stated they did not believe they would ever tour as Rush again following the death of their legendary drummer Neil Peart in 2020.

However, the duo has now revealed that their casual jam sessions in the studio have reignited their passion for the band's music. "The more we played our old songs for fun, the more fun it became," Lee explained. "And so that's put us in this terrible situation where we have to announce that we made a decision to go back on tour."

The "Fifty Something Tour" will span 12 dates across 7 cities, including stops in Los Angeles, Mexico City, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and Cleveland. Each performance will feature a rotating setlist of "35 or so" of Rush's most beloved tracks, with a special tribute to honor Peart's memory and virtuosic drumming.

To fill Peart's iconic role, the band has enlisted German drummer Anika Nilles, who is known for her technical prowess. "Our music is special -- it really is special," Lifeson said. "Being away from it for a while and revisiting it, I realized how difficult it is to play but how rich it is in its music and lyrics and everything that it represented."

Fans eager to witness this long-awaited reunion are advised to act quickly, as tickets for the Fifty Something Tour are expected to sell out rapidly.
