Rush's Lifelong Friendship Fuels Global Reunion Tour
27 Feb
Summary
- Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, friends for 60 years, are touring again.
- The band reformed due to their strong friendship, not just music.
- German drummer Anika Nilles has been chosen to replace Neil Peart.

Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, friends for six decades, are embarking on the R50 reunion tour. The band's return is fueled by their profound personal connection, which predates their musical careers. They had initially considered the band over after drummer Neil Peart's passing in January 2020.
Their decision to reform stemmed from a desire to play music together again as friends. This was preceded by participation in tribute concerts for Taylor Hawkins in 2022. The upcoming tour includes 58 North American arena dates, with an additional 24 European and South American shows scheduled for March 2027.
