Rupankar Bagchi recently recorded two new Bengali songs, "Megh Ashe Pashe" and "Ekla Poth," at the iconic Saregama studio in Dum Dum, formerly HMV studio. These tracks, released on September 25, were penned and composed by Sudipta Chanda.
The songs, released just before the Puja festivities and International Tourism Day on September 27, evoke themes of travel and mountainous landscapes. "Megh Ashe Pashe" features an arrangement by Ranadeep Mukherjee, while Madhurjo Mukherjee arranged "Ekla Poth."
Bagchi's return to the HMV studio holds personal significance, recalling his visit in 1992 to observe Suman Chattopadhyay's recording sessions. He has since recorded numerous albums at the venue. Bagchi expressed comfort in his ongoing collaboration with Chanda, noting their established rapport.
Sudipta Chanda highlighted that Bengali travel songs have been a consistent element in his musical journey, often accompanied by music videos filmed in scenic hill stations. Both new songs are accessible on various streaming platforms, and a music video for "Ekla Poth" is available on YouTube.
