King's 'Running Man' Hits $30M Box Office Milestone

Edgar Wright's adaptation of Stephen King's "The Running Man" has achieved a notable box office success, recently surpassing $30 million in worldwide earnings. This figure positions the film within a select group, as only 19 Stephen King movie adaptations have reached this financial threshold throughout their theatrical runs.

The film, starring Glen Powell, opened to nearly $6.5 million domestically over its first three days and quickly accumulated $19.4 million from the domestic market and $11.2 million from international territories by its fifth day. However, the road to profitability remains challenging due to its substantial $110 million production budget.

To achieve profitability, "The Running Man" will likely need to gross around $275 million, roughly two and a half times its production cost. The film is also performing well compared to other King adaptations released this year, though it has yet to surpass "The Monkey" and "The Long Walk" in total worldwide gross.
