The annual Roots Picnic festival is set to take place on May 30th and 31st at Belmont Plateau. This year's event will be headlined by the renowned Jay-Z and Philadelphia's own The Roots, who are scheduled to perform on Saturday, May 30th. This relocation to Belmont Plateau is a key change from previous years, driven by a desire to improve the attendee experience following issues at last year's venue.
Organizers have cited inspiration from the city's vision for Philadelphia 250 as a reason for aiming higher with this year's festival. Presale tickets are currently on sale, and the general public can purchase tickets starting March 18th at 10 a.m. The Roots, founders of the festival in 2007, expressed their excitement for this "bucket-list moment" at the new venue.
