Roosevelt Film Lab, a new venture by producers Jon Wroblewski and Christian Sosa, has officially launched its operations, coinciding with its presence at SXSW. The Austin-based film company is dedicated to the development, packaging, and production of feature films, spanning a variety of genres.
Two projects from Roosevelt Film Lab are scheduled to premiere at SXSW. 'Family Home,' marks the directorial debut of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, who also star alongside their children, Travis and Sosie Bacon. This meta horror film involves a filmmaking family whose low-budget project becomes a real-life slasher scenario.
Also premiering is 'American Dollhouse,' a genre film from director John Valley, shot entirely in Austin with local talent. The movie follows a woman targeted by a psychotic neighbor obsessed with her due to a resemblance to his deceased mother, leading to a terrifying holiday experience.
Roosevelt Film Lab also has a robust production slate of recently completed films. Among these are Oscar Boyson's 'Our Hero Balthazar,' starring Jaeden Martell and Asa Butterfield, and Caleb Landry Jones's passion project 'Down the Arm of God.' Other post-production titles include 'Six Till Midnight' and 'Mattress Mack.'
