Victoria's Secret issued a statement indicating that Piergiorgio Del Moro, the casting director, informed Strijd's agency, IMG, on September 6 that she had not been cast. However, Strijd clarified that she did not attend the casting until September 10.
Strijd explained that she had been on option since early summer and sought an explanation for the discrepancy. While accepting the brand's right to choose models, she emphasized the importance of clear communication after extensive preparation and planning.
