Early Sunday morning, assailants discharged four rounds of gunfire outside the Juhu residence of renowned Bollywood director-producer Rohit Shetty. In response to this alarming incident, security has been significantly heightened around the filmmaker's residential building, with police and forensic teams meticulously examining the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Indian Film & Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) has issued a strong statement condemning the act and expressing grave concerns about the safety of film industry members. The association has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his personal intervention to ensure the industry's confidence is not shaken by such events.
Authorities have taken swift action, with five suspects being detained in Pune in connection with the firing. These individuals have been transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch for ongoing investigation. Earlier, the Mumbai Crime Branch had established twelve special teams dedicated to apprehending those involved in the shooting.
