Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has secured the exclusive rights to adapt both of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria's books, 'When It All Began' and 'Let Me Say It Now,' into films. The highly anticipated biopic, starring John Abraham as Maria, is currently under production and promises a grand scale.
Shetty revealed the project involves casting around 580 actors to accurately depict the many officers and individuals involved in major cases across decades. A significant focus will be on recreating the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, particularly the intense hours within the police control room, aiming to showcase the unseen police response.
Expressing complete faith in Shetty's vision, Rakesh Maria stated he will not interfere in the filmmaking process. The director shared a personal connection with Maria, having known him since childhood, and emphasized his commitment to portraying the former commissioner's extraordinary journey with authenticity and scale.
