Tom Hamilton, the 74-year-old bassist for Aerosmith, recently visited Disney's Hollywood Studios for a final ride on the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The attraction is set to close permanently on March 1, making way for a new Muppets-themed roller coaster. Hamilton expressed his honor in sharing the ride with fans for many years and thanked the park's cast members for their hospitality during his visit with his band, Close Enemies.
The iconic indoor roller coaster, which opened in 1999, is known for its powerful audio system that plays Aerosmith hits. Guests experienced a special send-off during Hamilton's visit, with onlookers cheering as he and his bandmates rode the attraction one last time. The pre-show entertainment for the ride was reportedly removed in December.
The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets is anticipated to open in summer 2026, featuring beloved characters from Jim Henson's creations. While a specific opening date has not been announced, this transformation marks a new era for the attraction on Hollywood Studios' Sunset Boulevard.
