Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn celebrated her 47th birthday on June 12th, 2026. Born Robin Miriam Carlsson in Stockholm, her upbringing within an artistic family heavily influenced her unique style. She began her music career in the 1990s, signing with RCA Records and releasing her debut album, Robyn Is Here, in 1995.
After parting ways with major labels over creative differences regarding her electronic sound, Robyn founded Konichiwa Records in 2005. This independent venture allowed her to release her self-titled album, which became her first number-one album in Sweden and garnered her several Swedish Grammy awards.
In 2010, Robyn released the critically acclaimed Body Talk trilogy, featuring the hit single "Dancing on My Own." This release marked her first number-one single in Sweden and a significant international success. More recently, in 2018, she released an album following the popular use of her song "Honey" in the HBO series Girls.
Robyn was recognized as "Songwriter of the Decade" by NME in 2020, and her song "Dancing on My Own" was listed among Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time." In 2026, she released her ninth studio album, Sexistential.
