Amazon MGM Studios has officially ordered an eight-episode RoboCop television series for Prime Video, produced by Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Showrunner Peter Ocko, known for 'Lodge 49,' is spearheading the project, with James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett serving as executive producers. This initiative revives a franchise first announced for development three years ago.
The original 1987 film, directed by Paul Verhoeven, depicted a cyborg police officer in a dystopian Detroit, lauded for its sharp social commentary on corporate America. The new series seeks to capture the essence of that satirical spirit.
