Robert Plant Crowned Record Store Legend 2026

Robert Plant, the iconic eight-time Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, has been announced as the 2026 Record Store Legend. This prestigious award recognizes his lifelong dedication to record stores and physical music formats. Plant, who has been creating music since 1966, highlighted the profound connection listeners forge with music through tangible records, appreciating the artist's complete vision.

As part of his recognition, Plant visited Spillers Records in Cardiff, Wales, the world's oldest record store, where he received a permanent plaque. This honor comes ahead of the 2026 Record Store Day festivities on April 18, which will feature Bruno Mars as its celebrity ambassador. Plant joins an elite group, with only Elton John and Johnny Marr having previously received the Record Store Legend award.
