Summary

- The actor discussed formative films in a video series with Lance Oppenheim.

Actor Robert Pattinson has declared Michael Bay's 2007 film Transformers the most essential movie of the 2000s. Pattinson explained his choice was based on the decade's distinct visual style, characterized by bright, saturated colors and glossy finishes, which he felt Transformers epitomized before changing.
This unexpected declaration was made during an appearance on the A24 and Letterboxd video series 'The List,' where guests discuss formative films. Pattinson was joined by director Lance Oppenheim, helmer of the A24 drama Primetime, which is currently in theaters.
The pair reviewed eight films, including 'Vanilla Sky,' 'Scarface,' and 'Donnie Darko.' Pattinson highlighted 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and 'A Clockwork Orange' as particularly impactful for him as an actor. Oppenheim also shared an anecdote about 'Braveheart' being an ongoing inside joke between them.
Pattinson is set to appear in 'Dune: Part Three' this December, with the sequel to 'The Batman' scheduled for release on February 18, 2028.
