Robbie Williams Delays Album to Avoid Taylor Swift Showdown
10 Oct
Summary
- Robbie Williams performed his debut album 'Life Thru A Lens' in full
- Williams delayed his 13th album 'Britpop' to avoid clashing with Taylor Swift's release
- Williams aims to break the Beatles' record for most UK #1 albums

In a special performance on October 9th, 2025, British pop star Robbie Williams took the stage at London's Dingwalls venue to play his iconic debut album 'Life Thru A Lens' in its entirety. The intimate 600-capacity show marked Williams' smallest-ever ticketed gig.
During the event, Williams confirmed that the release of his 13th studio album 'Britpop' had been recently pushed back to February 6th, 2026, due to "scheduling issues." However, he admitted that the real reason was to avoid competing with the arrival of Taylor Swift's 'The Life Of A Showgirl' on October 3rd, 2025, and its anticipated chart dominance.
If 'Britpop' reaches the top of the UK Albums Chart next year, it will secure Williams his 16th number-one album, breaking a tie with The Beatles for the most UK chart-topping records. "We're all pretending [the scheduling change] is not about Taylor Swift, but it f-king is, you can't compete with that," Williams told the crowd.

The singer also performed a selection of new tracks from 'Britpop,' which he described as representing "the artist I always wanted to be." Fans were required to place their phones in Yondr pouches to prevent any leaks of the unreleased material.
