Riya Shibu, who has captured audiences' attention as the Gen Z ghost Delulu in the Malayalam film 'Sarvam Maya,' shared insights into her burgeoning career. Shibu finds her character Delulu to be a reflection of her own personality, stating, "How I am as Delulu is how I am in real life." The actress found the filming experience for 'Sarvam Maya' to be comfortable, akin to being at home. She spoke highly of her co-stars Nivin Pauly and Aju Varghese, describing them as having a "boys-next-door vibe" and being genuinely funny on and off-screen. Shibu also learned about classical dance from co-star Preity Mukhundhan for a challenging sequence in the film.
Her interest in filmmaking and storytelling began during her visual communication studies at Loyola College, where she engaged in scriptwriting, directing, and editing short films. Shibu also maintains a presence as a content creator, producing reels out of passion and connecting with her audience who encouraged her acting aspirations. While she has experience in production work, including on Vikram's 'Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2,' she currently focuses on acting, feeling she needs more experience for solo production. Her fashion sense also played a role, with some of her personal T-shirts featured in 'Sarvam Maya.' Shibu is also working on her next film, 'Athiradi,' alongside Basil Joseph.
