Summary
- Actress Madelaine Petsch stars in The Strangers: Chapter 2
- Petsch was 15 when she first watched the original 2008 film
- The Strangers franchise is known for its relatable, terrifying premise

Madelaine Petsch, the 31-year-old actress known for her role as Cheryl Blossom on the CW series Riverdale, is set to star in the upcoming sequel to the horror movie The Strangers. The new film, titled The Strangers: Chapter 2, is part of the relaunched franchise that began with the 2008 original.
Petsch, who also produced the sequel, recently opened up about her first experience with the franchise. She recalls being just 15 years old when her brother encouraged her to watch the 2008 film, which left a lasting impression. "I was home alone and my brother thought it'd be funny to tell me to watch that movie. So I did, and I was quite young. I came out in 2008. I was like 15 when I watched it," Petsch says.
The actress notes that the relatable nature of the film's premise is what makes it so terrifying. "I've seen so many horror films that feel supernatural or otherworldly, so you can't really liken them to your own life. But with The Strangers, they're just people with masks on who want to kill, and I think that's what makes it so terrifying," she explains.
