Summary
- Actress Camila Mendes faced challenges filming intense boar attack scene
- Served as executive producer, contributed to script and editing
- Upcoming film Maintenance Required to showcase "different side" of her

In the upcoming horror sequel The Strangers: Chapter 2, Riverdale star Camila Mendes faced a shocking and intense scene where her character, Maya, is attacked by a wild boar. Mendes, who plays the fearless final-girl, was initially apprehensive about filming the scene, but ultimately rose to the occasion.
"When I saw that in the script, I was like, 'How the f--- am I going to do this?' But I was also like, 'Hey, I am already doing it, so let's go,'" Mendes recalls. The production used a "creature actor" to bring the wild boar to life, which Mendes found "very helpful" in her performance.
Beyond her starring role, Mendes also served as an executive producer on the film, allowing her to contribute to the script and editing process. "When it comes to being a producer, I'm like, 'Can I be additive to the story? How can I be of service to the story in a deeper way?' If there's no need for me, I don't want to produce," she explains.
Mendes' experience on The Strangers: Chapter 2 has "gained [her] more knowledge about how [she] wants to operate in the world." The actress is now set to showcase a "different side" in her upcoming film Maintenance Required, which she teases will feature "a really amazing cast."
