Summary
- A theatre group seeks stories about the River Avon for a new performance.
- The project is a collaboration between Stan's Cafe and the RSC.
- Performances featuring the Avon's stories are planned for mid-August.

Birmingham-based Stan's Cafe, working with the Royal Shakespeare Company, is seeking personal stories and memories about the River Avon in Warwickshire for an upcoming performance.
This project continues Stan's Cafe's series exploring great rivers, following previous works on the Thames, Volga, Severn, and Indus. The Avon, known as Shakespeare's Avon, is an 85-mile (137km) waterway that flows through Warwickshire.
Co-writer Craig Stephens highlighted the rich history, both natural and human, held within rivers. He encourages submissions of all kinds, from dramatic events to simple observations like swimming, boating, or spotting wildlife. These collected stories will be presented in mid-August.
The performance will feature a fabric map illustrating the river’s journey. Stephens hopes this visual aid will prompt further shared memories and experiences from the audience, fostering a community connection to the river's past and present.
