Filmmaker Rishab Shetty's Inspiring Rise from Wada Pav to Kantara Stardom

In a recent press meet for the film Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1 in Mumbai, director Rishab Shetty shared his inspiring journey from humble beginnings to becoming a celebrated filmmaker. Just 17 years ago, in 2008, Shetty was working as a driver for a film producer in Andheri, Mumbai, and would often have wada pav on the streets. He never imagined that one day he would reach this level of success and recognition in the industry.

Shetty expressed his deep connection to Mumbai, stating that the city holds a special place in his heart. He recounted his early days working as an office boy in a production house, before eventually becoming a driver for a producer. Shetty's story is a testament to the transformative power of cinema, as he has now achieved immense acclaim and respect for his work.

Shetty's wife, costume designer Pragathi Shetty, also spoke highly of her husband's dedication to his craft. She revealed that Shetty was physically, mentally and emotionally drained during the making of Kantara, as he took on the roles of writer, actor and director. However, with the blessings of their deities and the support of the audience, they were able to pull off the film's success.
