Sir Ringo Starr, the legendary drummer of The Beatles, has announced a new 10-track album titled Long Long Road, slated for release on April 24. The album's lead single, "It's Been Too Long," was released on Tuesday, featuring guest appearances by Sarah Jarosz and Molly Tuttle.
This upcoming record will include collaborations with prominent musicians such as Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, and St Vincent. "It's Been Too Long" was co-written by Sir Ringo and producer T Bone Burnett, who has been instrumental in the creation of this and Starr's previous album, Look Up.
Look Up, released in 2025, notably reached the number one position on the UK's official country chart. Sir Ringo shared his appreciation for T Bone Burnett, stating that working with him on these records has been a significant positive experience.
The new album, Long Long Road, recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles, explores country and Americana sounds, featuring many of the same musicians from the Look Up album. Starr also mentioned paying homage to guitarist Carl Perkins by including one of his songs on the record.
T Bone Burnett described Starr as a "recording artist of the highest calibre" and expressed his desire to surround him with emerging talent, bringing "extraordinary young energy" to the music being created in Nashville.
